Stumbled on a real easy way to make animations...
Knock something up in flash or if you suck at flash like me, cheat and use SWiSH and then export it as an avi, import the avi into GIF movie gear, and you can save it as a .bmp filmstrip of static images (Just like skinstudio uses) neat that these programs seem to work together so well.

I've used Flash, Photoshop and 3ds max for the animations in my skins, all work perfectly with GIF MovieGear, simply because it can import numbered bmp's and avi's per frame. All you gotta do afterwards is compress it with RLE 8 bit and your animation is ready. The great thing about using Flash, is that you can import png's (or other images) and animate them smoothly.

Thanks guys...gif movie gear worked great, and was easy.Image ready was a little flaky at times.(my first one was messed up because of that top left pixel transparency thing )

How do you package them as a standalone package.

Go to File> Export> Export Animations
They will be saved as a Web Package. Same for Toolbar Icons.
